Care home’s oldest resident reaches 102

STAFF at a care centre in Banbury held a small party to celebrate the birthday of their oldest resident.

Edith Warwick, who has lived at Lark Rise Care Centre in Prescott Close since December 29 last year, turned 102 last Friday.

Tracey Bennett, care leader at Lark Rise, said: “The day was really nice and she was happy and content. Everyone at the home enjoyed it.”

A cake was also made to celebrate the milestone and the party was attended by some of the care centre’s other residents.

Mrs Warwick moved to the care home in Banbury to be closer to her family, who also paid her a visit in the evening following the birthday celebrations with staff and residents.

Mrs Bennett said: “Edith is very popular with everyone at the care home. She is very active and you would think she is 85!

“She had a lot of cards on the day, which was really nice, and is always cheerful around the centre.

“We always try to put nice things on for the residents here to celebrate their good health.”
